Student Success Statement

         "don't expect things to come from the sky, you have to fight for it"

This student success statement created by me means something. People sometimes just think that things will go their way and their parents will give them everything what they want. However, you have to fight for what you want. It's like money doesn't grow on trees. You have work hard and fight for it to earn that money. If you don't fight for what you want, then don't cry for what you lost. It is worthy to fight for something, things won't come straight down from the sky. If a lady is fighting for her rights, then she is doing the right thing. She won't lay down at the sun and hoping it will solve the problem by itself. She has to do something about. She wants it, then she needs to fight for it. That is the good thing to do, the only thing you should do.  As long if that person who is fighting is positive and determine, she will get what she wants.

  Ear Nose Throat Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: The ear, nose, and throat doctor, also known as the ENT, are medical doctors that are responsible for surgical and medical treatment for nose, throat, and the ear. They are responsible for diagnosing and treating a number of conditions that originate in the head or the neck. They are also responsible for investigating if the problem is occurring because of an allergy. One of their duties is to write the prescriptions of the type of medication is needed for the patient. If the cases are severe, the doctor will then recommend a surgery.

Salary: $205,000 per year

Education: To become an ENT, you first need to complete a medical school program for five years. The first year will be focus on emergency medicine and critical care medicine. Then the other four years, it will be focus on otolaryngology. After that, you must pass the United States Medical License Examination.  

Demand or Need for this profession:  There are very few ENT specialists. We need a demand for this profession. One out of three of ENT specialists are here Los Angeles.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one, because it doesn’t quite interest me. This career has a great salary, however I feel there will be more pressure in this career.

"Obedience is central to becoming,being, and remaining happy"

     This Student Success Statement is really powerful and a classic by David Bednar. What David meant by this is that obedience, meaning following the rules and being a CTR person, is the only way and its the key to becoming a happy human being. If someone is productive and self-reliant, that person will be remaing happy for a long period of time. As long as he chooses the right. If someone does bad stuff and is no obedient, he or she will not be the happiest person out there. The person may think he or she is happy, but deep inside, they are not. In order to be happy, we need to have a great a  character  and be loyal. That is being obedient. With being obedient, that is the aim,the focus, and the target. If you are not obedient, you will be unhappy. 

                          LAUSD Student Services

There are numerous student services that are provided by Lausd. One of the student services is the magnet fair. The magnet fair will be for North West Magnet middle schools. Another student led services is the AALO career fair and workshops. These are the upcoming events in the calender. A student service in the LAUSD website is beyond the link of students life. There are tons of links in the website. For instance , there is a school menu to see what are they giving for breakfast or lunch. There is also a Beyond The Bell programs for after school which are really helpful. There is a code of conduct for students also! One of the links is Student Resources and tools. Beyond the link is bullying information, Digital Library, pupil services,etc. There is also a significant link which is the graduation requirements. There , they explain what you need in order to graduate. An interesting fact, there is an online learning in LAUSD for those who want to remake courses or who wants to get ahead. Students can take advantage of this, because there are college prep classes,high school electives, and ap classes! There are even more student services in the lausd website.

Student Success Statement

                " Choosing the right is always the right thing to do"

This statement by a fellow student name Alex Linares stated  a beautiful quote. What Alex means by this is that if we do the right thing , that would be the right thing to do. It will always  be the right thing if we do the right every day in our daily lives. If we do do the wrong like stealing, obviously, that would be the wrong thing to do. Plus, if we do wrong things, we won't get a lot of credit. An example of this, is that a Little boy helps the poor, donate money or clothes, and does the chores for his mom. He is doing the right thing and one day, he will get credit for it. In the other hand, if the boy steals money, doesn't do homework, and curses, he is obviously not choosing the right thing and not doing the right thing. If we choose the right every day, our lives will be so much better, because it is the right thing to do. If w study, we will get good grade. If we do chores without our parents telling us, we will get credit. And that is by choosing the right. 

           Dermatologists

Responsibilities and Duties:  Dermatologists provide medical and surgical treatments to people with problems such as bacterial infections, aging,acne,allergic reactions, etc. They provide dermatology consultation to other health professionals. They also recommend diagnostic tests based on patent's history and physical  examination findings. One of their duties is to conduct clinical or basic research and to perform skin surgery to approve appearance, make early diagnosis, or control skin diseases such as skin cancer. They have lots of other duties they are responsible of.

Salary: ( $300,000 or more)

Education: Becoming a dermatologist requires many years of education. They must do the following:

1. Students must complete any college with a bachelor’s degree.
2. Students must complete medical school in becoming a medical doctor or a osteopathic doctor.
3. They must have 1 year of an internship.
4. Must attend to Dermatology residency program for at least 3 years and graduate.

Demand or need for this profession: There are very few of dermatologists , so we demand more for this profession. In sunny California,people have risks of getting skin cancer if they are too much in the sun.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one,because the profession doesn’t seem interesting. I would not enjoy performing a surgery.

 " What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player."

This tremendous statement by John Wooden is really meaningful. What this statement means is that what you are as a person is more significant than a ball player. First comes the way you are , your personality, your sportsmanship. Then it's basketball. In order to become a great player in general ( in this terms basketball) you have to have great sportsmanship and a great character in you. For instance, if you have a great charisma and temperament, you will be a great person as who you are. If that person chooses the right first, then you will be a great player inside of you when you step on the court and off the court. Now, if you don't have a great personality and horrible charisma, in the court, you won't be a true basketball player. You might be selfish with the ball and that isn't having a great personality. 

        Architecture

Duties and Responsibilities: Architects design new buildings and do alterations in existing buildings. They travel regularly to building sites, proposed locations and client meetings. They also write and present proposals or new ideas and even applications. Another responsibility that architects do is that they work around constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact, and project budget. They choose the materials to be used and specifying the requirements for the project.

Salary: ( $73,090 USD)

Education: High school graduates who wants to become an architect has to pursue a bachelor of architecture program that will take about 5 years to complete. After they earn their bachelor’s , they are eligible to apply in masters of architecture program. Several students can complete this program in one year. Some schools require a portfolio featuring the applicant’s best sketches and models. Overall, that will be it to be an architect.

Demand for this career: There’s not enough women in this particular career. However there are enough of male architects.

Reflection: I would love to be an architecture, even if there is not enough female architects. I would like to be one, because it seems interesting to design new buildings and houses. Plus, they have a great salary. It is a dream job for me.

Student Success Statemnet

                 "True Wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."

This quote that it's stated by Pathos , is truly meaningful. What this statement means is that wealth comes within you and not from your bank account or your purse. True wealth is being rich of kindness and the right decisions you make as a person. Just because you are a millionaire and have lots and lots of money, doesn't truly mean that you're completely rich. In your heart, you don't have good wealth. An example, is that if you steal money from other people or even the bank. Then at the end of the day , you are loaded of money and you think you are rich. However, in the deep of your heart, you are not truly wealthy. You will have a poor heart. You can be rich and wealthy if you just choose the right. You can be wealthy by spending your poverty well and kindly. 

      Dental Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: Dental assistants perform a variety of  patient care,office and laboratory duties, and often work chair-side with the as the dentists perform the treatments for their patients. They often help the patients feel comfortable and feel better before and after the dental treatment. They also take and develop dental radiographs which is also known as x-rays. While the dentists do their work, they prepare and sterilize equipment and instruments. Finally, they also communicate with patients such as making their next appointment or where to get the medications.

Salary: ( $34,500 USD)

Education:  There is not really any formal education to become a dental assistant. Some assistant just has their high school diploma and only receiving on-the-job-training. It is highly recommended to attend a dental assisting programs and earn a 1-year diploma. Courses include: radiology,  dental materials,chair-side assisting,etc. And that would be pretty much it for them.

Demand or need for this profession: For the most part, we don’t really need more dental assistants. There are plenty of them but we demand more dentists.

Reflection: I think I do not want to be one, because they don’t have a great salary and don’t really do much as the dentists. There is not a challenge in this career. It doesn’t interest me.  

Student Success Statement

                  "You cannot do wrong and feel right. It's impossible."

This student success statement from Ezra Bensonis extremely powerful. What he's saying is that if you do bad stuff in life, it is impossible to feel good about yourself and feel right. You are more likely to feel somewhat miserable and bad. An example of this quote is like someone vandilizing school's property. If a person paints ont the walls and writes ont he desks , he/she (later on) will not feel quite good. Now in the other hand, if someone does something good, that person will more likely to be happy and great about themselves. Now that is possible. Throughout my experience, when ever i do something wrong such as a white lie, i do feel bad . I feel it's wrong. If someone doesn't choose the right , they will not feel right. It is like a rule.

                               Dentist

Duties and responsibilities: Dentists are special doctors who specialize in oral health. They have numerous responsibilities that include: diagnosing oral diseases, promoting oral health and disease prevention,performing surgical procedures on the teeth,bone,or soft tissues on the oral cavity. Dentists also creates treatment plans to maintain or restore the oral healths of their patient. They also interpret x-rays and diagnostic tests and ensuring the safe administration of anesthetics.

Salary:  ($149,310 USD)

Education: The first education of being a dentist to enroll in dental school. You must submit your  DAT( Dental Admission Test) with your application.  Colleges offer a DDS degree program for 4 years for preclinical and clinical instruction. First two years are devoted to lab and class instruction. Courses may include: pathology, dental diagnosis, and dental treatment techniques . You must have a doctoral degree,a bachelor's degree for dental medicine.

Demand or need for this profession: There should be more dentists here in the community or in fact everywhere. We need more dentists, because there are very few of them here and everyone needs to go. We need both dentists and orthodontists.

Reflection: I don’t think i would like to be a dentist, because it doesn’t quite interest me. The fact of cleansing patient’s mouth and other tasks doesn’t catch my attention.

Student Success Statement

              When I  do good , I  feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.

Abraham lincoln stated this powerful quote. He's trying to tell a message. If people do good things in life, they feel pride and feels good. In the other hand, If someone's does something bad, they will feel bad ,beacause they didn't choose the right. An example of this quote is in good terms. If a girl helps the poor and donates food to them, at ther end of the day, she will feel good. She will feel pride of joy! Now if she doesn't choose the right such as not coming back at the house by curfew time, she will feel bad and horrible,plus she will get a punishment. If people int he society do good, they sure will feel good, they may even get a prize for doing good. If they do bad, they will feel bad and may earn a punishment. Throughout my experience, when I do good such as helping my mom with cores or helping the community , i feel good and lots of pride in me . Now when I do bad, I don't really feel good. It's better if we choose the right to feel great!

  Chiropractor

Duties and responsibilities: A chiropractor is a health care provider who work with patients that has some sort of pain in their bones, muscles, and tendons. They sometimes also collaborate with ongoing rehabilitation care with physical therapists or doctors.  They analyze the patient’s posture,spine, and reflexes. An important duty they do the most is to give additional treatments such as applying heat or cold to the injured area. Finally they conduct tests including evaluating the patient’s posture and taking x-rays.

Salary: ($66,160 USD)

Education: To become a chiropractor, your first step is to earn 90 credits of undergraduate coursework. You then earn a bachelor’s degree. Step two is to attend a chiropractic college.  You can earn a 4-year program. Step three is to obtain a license. Step four is to choose a chiropractic specialty. And finally, step five is to complete continuing education to maintain licensure.

Demand for this profession: According to chiropractor.com, there are very few chiropractors here in our community. I believe we need more chiropractors in society.

Reflection: I think i don't want to be a chiropractor because it doesn’t really catch my attention. We need more chiropractors but this career seems not interesting.

The key to freedom is obedience. The more obedient we are, the                                  more freedom we have.                                                                            
                                                    Boyd K. Packer
This student success statement is from Boyd Packer. This statement is really powerful. What this statement means is that if we follow by the "rules" and don't do evil, we all can have freedom. We will have freedom to do all things if we choose the right. n example in this terms is like if a person steals something thing from the mall or something, he/she will more likely be  sent to jail. He/she will be locked up in a cell and won't have a lot of freedom. The only thing he/she can do is just to walk side to side and possibly make a phone call. Now in the other hand, if we do good and be obedient by following the rules, we have more freedom and won;t be locked up. In other terms, let say if your mother grounds you because you went to a party without asking her permission. She will probably sent you to your room and not come down until she tells you something. You will have less freedom. So it is better to be obedient. In school terms, if you get detention for not choosing the right, you will be stuck there until the teacher tells you something. We all need to be obedient and play by the rules . Obedient and freedom goes hand by hand.

911 memorials

The 9/11 attack was something everyone will never forget about. Our love ones and the people who they cared  about the most died that day.It was a day of courage and a day of brief. At 8:46 am , an american airline from Boston with 92 aboard, traveling in a speed of 470 miles per hour, strikes the north tower. Then it was 9:03, and the tragedy was only beginning. In those few seconds, a united airline with 76 aboard, traveling in the speed of  590 miles an hour, smashes to the south tower in the Trade Center. Everyone was screaming and yelling. Victims were crying for help, a dust cloud was storming in the direction of the people. On 10:28 , one of the towers collapsed. It was caos in New York City. Hundreds of firefighters were trapped int he tower and victims as well. On 5:20, the 7th world center collapsed as well. 74 police men were missing and estimated about 200 firemen were missing. This day was so tragic that it can't be explain in words. Innocent people were there trapped in the tower. Some came in for an interview job,others came to their daily jobs. Families are crying and there's nothing we can do about it. Others whop were trapped in there just jumped out of the building. My first memory was when we were watching in tv. It was 2013 9-11.

REFLECTION: I feel that this day was extremely painful for everyone. I can not express this enough. I'm really sad about this,because tons of people died and they were innocent people. It breaks my heart that families cry and courageous people die. It;s really really sad.

Obedience

      One day , a young eight year old boy name Thomas , was yanking out the roots of the grass with his best friend, Danny. They have their energy to put out a lot of grass roots. However, young Thomas Monson , thought of the idea to use matches on the grass and it will burn of all of the grass roots. He thought that "magically" it will dry itself and there would be no problem. So, as they went to get some matches secretly, they went outside joyfully. When they light up the matches , they saw it dry off. Then , all of the sudden, the fire wasn't going away. Actually, it was increasing. Their only option was to yell for help. Then all of the people in the county went to help by pouring water or using a bag to make the fire go away. Because they weren't obedient, the fire was their punishment.

   This statement is very powerful. This statement means that obedience will help you in life in numerous ways. For example, when you're obedient like following the class room's rules, happiness will com your way. If you obey the laws , nothing bad will happen and that is the great test of life ! Thomas stated that obedience to god is the great test of life. If you follow by his rules, your life will be like a paradise. By choosing the right is to be obedient and greatness is waiting to happen!  If there wouldn't be obedience, our society will just be messed up. We all need to obey the rules and life will be perfect.

Education can take you to numerous places . For instance, education can give you the opportunity to get you in college or even better, a university. With that education, you can get a great career or job!  Plus, with education, you will get money . Education is the key to success in life. Without education, you wouldn't learn anything or try something new. Education will help you know your way into things that benefit you.
