This statement by William Penn has two different examples. But what does this mean? This quote is telling the audience that when something is right, it’s right. It doesn’t matter if everyone disagrees on it and is against it. And wrong is wrong, even if everyone agrees to and is for it. For instance, when something is right and that is right, is that we all have to do homework for school. It is the right thing to do, even if everyone dislikes that and doesn’t agree to it. Everyone may be against it, however it a good thing to do it. It is the right choice. In the other hand, when something is wrong, it’s wrong example is that all your so-call friends decided to smoke in this party. They want you to smoke as well. But it is the wrong thing to do, even though everyone is for it and agrees to it. Just because they do it, doesn’t me you have to do it. Another example of the right thing to do is to not smoke. It is the right thing to do. Maybe everyone doesn’t agree not to smoke, but it is the good thing to do. They are the ones who will be in trouble later on for not choosing the good thing to do. It’s just better if everyone does the right thing, even if you are the only one that thinks it is.

Peter Vidmar, an olympic gold medal winner, has been planning goals on his notebook or journal since he was a youngster. This quote means that to give up on your goal that wanted to accomplish in a long time for something you just want now. For instance, you have to go to basketball practice, because its mandatory. This matter the most. However, your friends invited you to go eat at a restaurant. Don’t sacrifice not going to practice for just going to a restaurant. Basketball matters the most, if you are in the team, you are committed to the rules. That is what matters the most. Peter also gave a tip. We should write down what we want the most such as an important goal you want to accomplish, and go over often. Everyday, write on your journal and go over it. Throughout my experience, I had homework to do. But my friend wanted me to go and hangout with her. Homework and the studies are first so i should be committed to that. I can’t “abandon” what really matters the most for what i want right now. Maybe i should write that down, to hangout with my friend, on my journal and accomplish it.

  School Homecomings

A school homecoming is a very important tradition pass by generations and generations in high schools of the United States. It is like a celebration where people in general, in high schools, come together in any activity ( such as homecoming game or dance) to welcome residents and such. It is also where students who used to go the school, come back. Homecomings go way back. The very first homecoming game was 1911, Kansas vs Missouri. The missouri annual homecoming had grand parades and spirit rally. In 1999, students started pep rallies. The parades and pep rallies seem so loud and very fun. A lot of people wonder why we celebrate homecomings in school.  Students in high school celebrate this to show school spirit and pride. Also, it is a welcome back to school celebration. Some fun activities that is related to school homecomings is a pep rally. In a pep rally,  they usually hold contests and games. It is extremely loud and excitable. Another activity is parades. In parades, the football team is there, and students with floats. A very fun activity is that students usually do spirit week. They can dress up what they want. It is called a homecoming games, because it is a game where the students come together and watch the football game and have fun. This only happens once every school year. A homecoming etiquette is having polite manners like saying please and thank you. You also have to dress appropriately and nice. My opinion on homecomings is that it is a chance where you get to know new pwople and hangout with friends. It will be a fun experience.

A good name is always better than having a thousand trophies pur say.  Coach Krzyzewski is a head coach of the Duke’s basketball team and this quote from him is brilliant. To have a good name is to have an absolute great personality and doing good things. People will know you from your name, not your trophies or your richness.  If you achieve to have a $100,000 car , that won’t top of having a good name. A good name is is being polite and having good manners and choosing the right. Coach K not only had 10000 wins in championships, but he had a good name for himself. He was a productive coach and taught the players with good discipline. He also taught his own players to choose the right. This is an example of a person who had a good name for himself but that was better than anything he achieve in his life.

  Reflection:  This statement can reflect to my life, because I do rather have a good name than anything i had and will achieve.

           Global Opportunities: Careers in other Countries  

• There are an abundant career opportunities throughout the globe. There are great opportunities in Australia for professions. One most common job there, is architecture. People who wants to be an architect has to be well experience to find a good employment there. This is a good career, because they can travel overseas.
• Another good career in Australia is town planning jobs. This is a good career, because you can plan and control the  construction, growth, and development of the town/city.
• Another country with good career is Germany. They have an accountant and finance jobs there. This is a good career, because it provides a high salary than other countries.
• Another country with good careers is Netherlands. One of the best careers in Netherlands is managing director. Their salary is the highest among all cities with a $150,00.
• Another country is london and it has great careers there. One good career is a pediatrician. This is a most common career there.

Reflection: I would like to work in another country if it is a good career such as pediatrician in London. I would like to know other countries better and travel. It may be a little uncomfortable at first, but I will get used to it. I will like to visit london as well.

Student Success statement

“ A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches”

                             Proverbs 22: 1

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches. This student success statement has an important message. Do you rather be someone who chooses the wrong a lot and doesn't do good but is rich or have a good name and chooses the right always but not be that rich?  The answer is to be a good person with a good name than being rich. A good name is your good personality. For instance, a good name is someone who is loyal, productive, caring, wise, honest, trustworthy, and ctr person. This person whos all of that has a good name.  Many people go for the money and  being rich and does bad in their life. However, they will not make in life. If they want to have a job and go into an interview, more likely they won’t be hired. That person doesn't have a good name on him so with that being said, he won’t get hired. On the other hand, if the person has a good name, he/she will get hired. Everyone likes a person that chooses the right and be a good person.  So it is way better if you be a good person that chooses the right way than be a person that chooses wrong and have great riches. You must have a great reputation.

                   Health Educator

Duties and responsibilities:  A health educator is someone who educates people about health. Their main duty is to help individuals and communities make better healthy lifestyle choices. They involve in collecting and analyzing to identify community needs in order to plan and monitor programs to encourage healthy lifestyles. They develop and maintain working relationships with agencies and organizations who are interest in public health care. They develop health education training and community presentations.  

Salary:  $41,380 USD

Education: A bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement, however a master’s degree is highly recommended in most schools. Students in this field tend to take classes in human development, psychology, and social work. They also must complete and pass an exam administered by the National Commission of the Health Education Credentialing, Inc.  After completing this exam, he/she must complete 75 hours of continuing education during a 5-year time frame in order to maintain certification.

Demand for this profession:  12% of job growth per year. There’s a need for this profession.

Reflection: I am not quite sure if I want to be a health educator, because they usually traveled many places without  rest due to the fact that they need to educate about healthy lifestyle choices among everyone. But then I will like to open people’s mind about health.

This stupendous statement by Thomas Monson is something meaningful to everyone. What he’s telling the audience is that don’t let your “friend” make you do anything on force. You are not his/her slave nor a bug to step on. You need to fight and make stand for rights. It doesn’t really matter whether you are alone. It is actually better, because more people will notice that you are strong and you know what you’re doing. Monson wants to notify all of us that we all need to be courageous and to be the light so people can follow it through the dark times. If you stand up for yourself, your voice will be heard and you will be the only person that will shine in a room full of dark.  For example, one of my old friends had  been treated like a bug and she was stepped on numerous times. She had enough of it so her decision was to quell it and stand up for herself. She was a valiant person that shine among people. It is better if you stand up for what's right, because if not, many will treat you unfairly and will just used you. You will make a difference. The moment you when you stand up for yourself and say “ this is wrong”, it helps other people do the same.

           Photographer

Duties and responsibilities: A portrait photographer is person who take pictures if individuals and groups of people and usually work in their own studios. Their duties are consist of setting up the photographic equipment, taking good picture with good lighting and the posture, retouching and editing the images, choose the setting, promote business, and they estimate or measure the light levels, distances, and numbers of exposures needed, using measuring devices and formulas.

Salary: $28,490

Education: The education that is required to be a photographer is precise. Students must have good technical abilities and knowledge of the equipment which classes of this can be taken. They must have a high school diploma. Also if students wants to be advance, they can get in a bachelors of arts in photography program and earn a bachelor’s degree. It is better for them to take classes of photography in a young age.

Demand for this career: %4 in a 10-year growth. There’s about 136,300 of this job.

Reflection: I think I would like to be a portrait photographer, because it is my escape of the real world. I am some what passionate for taking pictures that are base from nature, because it gives joy to me.

Student Success Statement

“ A CTR champion is a person who makes a great human out of himself.”

This student success statement by Noemi is really inspiring. She is telling us that the only champion in the whole world that can be a good human in the inside is a CTR person who always chooses the right. A CTR champion always wins , because he/she will always do good instead of bad. CTR champions are not like the other champions such as the NBA champions or the World cup champions. The difference between the both is that one of them is always chooses the right 24/7 and they have a good character in the inside. And the other, doesn’t quite choose the right every day. CTR champions are indeed the happiest people, because when they do good, they will get good things in return. An example will be that a high school basketball team wins the champions. They are full of jubilee and joy. However, they celebrate by drinking and doing disasters. They are champions, but they are not a person who makes a great human out of themselves. A true champion that chooses the right and doesn’t drink because they know it is wrong, is a CTR champion. Those champions will are the people who make a  great human out of himself.

                                          Environmental Health Specialist

Duties and responsibilities: An environmental health specialist is a specialist who monitor health and safety conditions in residential settings. They are responsible for many things such as handling of hazardous and infectious waste! They also are in charge of collecting and analyzing samples to determine if there is anything hazardous in the public. Environmental specialist may be associated with milk and dairy productions, sewage disposal, food management, water pollution, etc. They also must have good communication skills to advise the community about something not healthy in the environment. Finally, they must have a commitment of creating a safe environment.

Salary: $41,880 on average.

Education: The education that is needed to become an environmental health specialists is to:

1. Earn a bachelor’s degree. A success tip is to complete an internship, which can be extremely helpful.  
2. You must gain experience. According to study.com, employers prefer to hire people with 1-3 years of work experience.
3. You must consider a certification.Students must earn a 2-3 year degree in the CSP.

4. Lastly, students must pursue a master's degree.

Demand for this profession: There is a small percentage of these specialists so there should be a demand for more for this profession.

Reflection: I think I would like to be an environmental health specialist, because I do care the problems around by environment and by community. I would like make the environment a better place.

Student Success Statement

                    " Goal setting is goal getting. Set and Get ."

This student success statement is really great. Mark is trying to tell the audience that you want to set a goal, then you must get that goal and accomplish it. If you don't set the goal, then there is no way you can get that goal. You first need to set it. For instance, according to Mark in his interview video, he stated that you have to write down any goal you want on a piece of paper. It can be things that annoys you . " Big goals turn out to be big results" said Mark Victor. This is really inspiring. He said that writing down the sets of goals can help people visualize it more . You set the goal so you can then get it. An example can be if you want to loose pounds. However that isn't quiet specific. It has to be ," I want to loose 20 pounds by November 28". Now that you set the goal, you can then get it and accomplish it. If you don't have no goals, then you won't get no results. A good way to set our goals and then get them is to write 100 goals . You write them down and try to accomplish them. It's much easier, because you set the goal.

 Columbus Day

Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in Italy. He is an explorer and a navigator. His first voyage was in Atlantic Ocean. He also traveled some other expeditions to Africa. He was an enthusiast of exploring. Under the auspices of the catholic monarchs in spain, he completed four voyages in the atlantic ocean. In 1492, he discovered america in one of his voyages. A new world is revealed. That is where Columbus Day comes. Columbus day is a United States holiday where we celebrate the landing of Columbus in the new world in October 12, 1942.  He then also establish Spain’s first colony in the Americas with 99 of his men. In march, 1943, he then celebrated with wine and gold and other goodies. Fact that s known forever is that on 1937, Franklin D. Roosevelt claimed Columbus Day a holiday. Ages go by , and everyone will remember the name Christopher Columbus for his bravery.

 Reflection: My thoughts on this is pretty straightforward. I personally believe that this day is so special and unforgettable, because it is the day where Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas. His bravery and courage took him there. It is unbelievable. I think he accomplish his goal on exploring new places and taking expeditions.

This quote means that obedience is our main key or goal in order to be successful. James E. Faust makes a reference with building blocks in his statement. He means that if we choose the right by being obedient, we will make it to the top of the block while it builds up. However, he also makes a reference with a stumbling block. If we don't choose the right and not be obedient, we will stumble downwards and not be successful. That's why obedience is our main goal. For example, if a boy is not obedient to his mother and doesn't pay attention to her, he later will face consequences and will fall down the block .In the other hand, if he obeys his mom and does the right thing, little by little , he will be building the block to rise up. His goal is to be loyal, faithful,productive,etc. to be happy and successful.Throughout my experience, it is better to be obedient because I will be rising up on the block.

  Family Practitioner

Duties and Responsibilities: A family practitioner is a specialist who are often the first person whom a patient sees when seeking health care services. They collect, maintain, and record the patient’s information such as medical history, reports, and examination results. One of their duty is to order and perform tests and analyze the data. They also refer and recommend other specialists to go for their problem. Their duty most of all is to advise what’s good and bad for the patient in the physical check.

Salary: $189,000 a year in average.

Education: All premedical students must have taken biology, physics, and chemistry as an undergraduate. They must have taken extra-curricular activities and have a role in leadership. They must take the medical doctor admission test and submit their scores with their application. They must attend 2 years of medical school and graduates must pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination before they work with medicine. They must have a medical degree in those four years and as well as a bachelor's degree. They also must have an internship.

Demand for this profession: The growth of this career increases a maximum of %15 per year.

Reflection: I think I would like to be a family doctor , because I want to help people with health issues and their problems. I would like to make them happy.

                 “ We learn to do by doing”

This statement by Spencer W. Kimball means something really powerful. What this statement means is that if we want to learn how to do something, we need to do it. You never know unless you try. If you start doing it , little by little, you start learning. For instance, if you want to learn how to do free throws in basketball, you will learn by shooting the free throws. If you want to learn how to swim, well you learn by just swimming. Later on you will be an expert. In my experience, I wanted to learn how to cook. Now I know more or less how to cook. It all started by me just doing it, cooking. You just do want you want to do and later on you will be good at it.   

              Emergency Medical Technician

Duties and responsibilities: The emergency medical technician also known as an EMT, are responsible for assessing, treating, and transporting patients to the medical facility. They usually work with the policemen and the firefighters. They must be prepared to respond to emergencies calls such as car accidents, violent crimes, childbirth, seizures, strokes, etc. After they have arrived in the scene, they may bandage some injuries, check vital signs, control bleeding, and administer oxygen. Working as an EMT, can be emotionally and mentally demanding.

Salary: ( $29,350-$37,850)

Education: Many EMTs have special requirements such as a high school diploma, age requirement, fitness test, and background checks. They must enter into intermediate EMT training program and must required 30-350 hours for the completion. Some programs may lead you to certificates and associate's degree.

Demand or need for this profession: There are alot of EMTs required . Every day there is bad in society , and there are tons of EMTs answering phone calls.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be an Emt, because it doesn’t quite interest me. There’s too many pressure and working there as an EMT can be both emotionally and mentally demanding.
