“ Right is right only when entire.” - Victor Hugo

This quote by Victor Hugo gives an important message to all of us. To tell the truth. When Hugo states that right is right only when it’s entire, that means that saying the right thing can only be right when you only say the entire truth or saying. It could never be right if it is not entire. For instance, if your parents ask you how was school today and what you did is learning something new but ditch school in the last period, it is right if you tell her the entire thing. Now that that the right thing to do. However, if you just tell her that learn something new but not the ditching part, that is not right. You did not say the entire thing. It is known as the partially truth. Hugo says this to help the readers illustrate the quote. Right will be right only if you just the entire truth. It is wrong of you if you skip a humongous part of the truth. That will be considered as a lie. Therefore, Hugo tells this close quote to help us grow as an individual and to not make these mistakes such as saying the partial truth. Another example will be if your teacher asked if you did the homework. You did the homework, however, you copied it from someone else. When she asks you, you just say that you did your homework and you did not say the other part. This significant part is what metaphorically kills you. That this the wrong thing to do, because you didn’t say the entire thing. That is why right is right only when entire.

                The Naturopathic Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: A naturopathic doctor is a type of health care provider in which they treat patients using a system of medicine that is based on the natural resources. Just like any other doctor, they identify, examine, diagnose, and treat patients for their conditions and illnesses. Some of their duties consist of meeting with the patients, examining them, performing a variety of tests, following up and monitoring patients, discussing treatment options, designing treatment plans, and many more. They also perform only minor surgical procedures such as removing moles. They sample tissues for skin cancer and lipomas. Their main duty, however, is to “devise” whole health care management systems for the patients.

Salary: $67,650-$76,130

Education: The education that is required to become a naturopathic doctor is just like any other doctor. A minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education is extremely required. You first have to complete a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in the arts or sciences. After that , it’s required to go to  four-years at an accredited naturopathic medical college. Students then must pass comprehensive licensing exams in order to registered to practice. Another requirement is to contain a doctoral degree or a medical degree from an approved school. The last step is to participate in a residency program.

Demand or Need for this profession: It is expected that the employment will increase by 14% from 2014-2024. There should be a need for this profession.

Reflection: I  think I would like to be a ND doctor, because I will be able to help patients in need. I will have the ability to help them feel better and be healthy.

                U.S Navy

Duties and Responsibilities: The United States Navy’s main duty is to protect and serve for their country. The U.S Navy helps to patrol the world’s oceans in order to keep them safe. With more than 285 ships, including 11 aircrafts carriers, the U.S Navy in always in a constant rate of deployment. One of their responsibility is patrolling a designated section of the world’s ocean which includes the Mediterranean Sea. They have to know how to move across the water and to communicate with the disparate parts of their organizations. Their duty is to support the cause of liberty abroad and promoting peace for all humanity. They also need to enable the safe travel of people and goods to meet the expanding demands of the “globalization.” They transport uniformed military personnel and equipment. The Navy routinely collaborates with the other services to meet the Department of Defense requirements.

Salary:  $53,933-$137,020

Education: The education that is required to be a part of the Navy is not  complex. A high school diploma is practically required most of the time. The applicants with a high school diploma needs to score at least 32 AFQT on the ASVAB ( Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test) to enlist.This test determines your strengths and which occupations you are eligible for once you enlist.  You also must have some community services hours in order to be accepted. They would like to see that if you are doing something for your community so you can have some experience by doing something for our country. You must enlist in training programs such as at Great Lakes Naval Training Center.

Demand For this particular career: There is no demand for the Navy. However, many do go to join in to help them serve the country.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be part of the Navy, because it is somewhat frightening. I don’t think I would be able to do it.

“ Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for ‘tis better to be alone than in bad company.” - George Washington

    This quote by George Washington can affect our life positively. In other words, he is saying that you should be “associated” with good people. Therefore, that would define your reputation. And it is also better to be alone that have a bad company or in other words, hanging out with bad people in your life. For example, if you hang out with people who cares about school and always chooses the right, that is really good even though if you “esteem your own reputation”. It is also better to be alone rather than hanging out with people who do drugs and doesn’t care about school. I think George Washington told us that, because it will determine the way we act and feel. If people feel that they don’t need school and they don’t appreciate life, then they will hang out with that type of crowd and commit bad choices. In the other hand, if you want to be successful and happy, then you will associate yourself with those type of people. Another example, is being lonely in lunch. And a group of “friends” ask you to ditch school with them and do other bad stuff. The best choice is to not hang out with them, because they will bring misery to your life. That is why Washington states that it is better to be alone than with bad company If you have bad company, you might feel uncomfortable, so it is better to just be alone. This is what makes this statement powerful.

               Mental Health Counselor

Duties and Responsibilities: Mental Health Counselors educate, advise, and support patients with mental health issues. They have numerous duties to complete. For example, they maintain confidentiality of records relating to the client’s treatment. They try to encourage clients to express their feelings and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships. One of their duties is to modify treatments as needed for the patient. They will gather all the information and issues that the patient is having and will study it. The counselor will collaborate with other staff members that work there to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans for them. After treatment, they will work with the patient individually and monitor their use of medications.

Salary: $41,880 (median salary)

Education: The education that is needed is not quite complex. Majority of individuals who wants to pursuit a mental health counselor career will usually begin by earning a bachelor’s degree in counseling. It will be significant if they start taking courses. The education length will take about 4 years. Another option is to earn a master’s degree in counseling. ( only for the graduates.) For a PHD or a Doctoral work, you must earn a Doctorate in counseling. Experience in the clinical field is also required. It is also important to participate in education programs or workshops.

Demand or Need for this Profession: The job outlook for this profession is 19% increasing which is faster than the average. There not might be a need as long as it grows constantly.

Reflection: I think I would like to be a counselor for mental health, because I would like to help people with their issues and help them to be happy.

                Presidents Day  

Presidents Day is a holiday in which Americans celebrate on the third Monday of February. It is traditionally celebrated on February 22 which is Washington's actual day of birth. The holiday became popularly known as President’s Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s.  Washington’s birthday was first declared a federal holiday by an 1879 act of congress.Several  ways to show honor and respect on President’s Day is just like the traditions as Independence Day. President’s Day is a time to honor every one of our chiefs of states. One way to show honor is by creating a monument. People might make any monuments of any president of their choice. This shows a great honor for our past presidents. Another way is to take a tour in the Whitehouse. Another option is to learn all 44 presidents name. This will show respect towards all presidents of the past. Also, you can write a letter to any president that is available and write how you appreciate the work he has done. Some interesting facts about President’s Day is that it became common in the late 1980’s for retailers to use President’s Day as a day to sell off old stock. Also, some states also celebrate Abraham’s birthday in President’s Day as well as George Washington. Some ways people honor George Washington, is naming places after him such Washinton D.C.  This holiday is the time where all of our family members come together and show honor in any way for our previous presidents. We should all appreciate for their duties.

                    Valentine's day

Valentine’s day is known as the day of love. It is on every February 14. This day has various meanings to others. Many people exchange love cards, candy, flowers to their special valentine. It all started from February 13 to 15 in which the Romans the big feast of Lupercalia. They would often be with women and have fun. Around the same time, the Normans celebrated Glatatin’s Day which meant “lover of women.” Later on it was developed as Valentine’s Day. The first Valentine’s Day ever was in the year of 496! That was a long time ago. The day gets its name from a famous saint, however, there were numerous stories of who he was. One of the stories of him was that he was a priest from Rome in the third century. Their emperor had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers. Valentine thought this was not fair so he broke the rules and arranged marriage in secret. After the emperor found out, Valentine was sent to jail and was sentenced to death. There, he fell in love with the jailer's daughter and when he was taken to be killed, he sent a letter ( on February 14)  said, “ From your Valentine.” The catholic church recognizes these saints as legends. However, Valentine’s Day wasn’t a holiday just yet. Pope Gelasius recast this festival as a christian feast day, declaring February 14 to be St. Valentine’s Day. In Addition to the United States, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada. Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia. Americans probably began exchanging hand-made valentines in the early 1700s. In the 1840s, may people started creating valentines cards and what not. Some of the traditions of Valentine’s Day is sending their love some box of chocolates, a patch of red roses, valentines candy, teddy bears, and love letters. Personally, Valentine's Day is a day where you and your “valentine” or a loved one spend time together and enjoy it.  It is the day of love in which people gets closer. That is my definition of Valentine’s Day.

This student success statement by Arnold is trying to tell us that we won’t go far in life unless you you set your goals and meet them. Metaphorically, those goals are the goalposts in football. Just like the sport, the ball won’t go far unless now exactly where the goalposts are and how far it’s from. As a person, you need to know how long are the goalposts are from you in order to meet the goals. For instance, if you don’t set your goals or not even meet them, you are extremely far from the goalposts. You need to know where they are to meet the goals. That is how to be successful in life. If you do know where your goalposts are and you write your goals and set them, you are closer than you think. You are close to meet the goals and accomplishing them. It is not only to meet the goals, but to accomplish them. That is what Arnold is trying to tell all of us. He compares our life as football for a better understanding about our goals. We need to set the goals, we write the goals, then little by little, we accomplish the goals.

               Veterinarian

Duties and Responsibilities:  A veterinarian is a person qualified to treat diseased or injured animals. They are commonly known as ,“a doctor for animals.” One of their duties is to examine the animals to detect and determine the problem. They do this by prescribing medication, setting bones, or even performing surgeries! One of their duties is to inoculate animals against numerous diseases such as rabies. In the lab, they collect body tissues, feces, blood, urine, or other body fluids for an examination. They also must be in contact with the owners. They need to advise them for sanitary measures, the food they must eat, and just general care. An the most important task for them is to just provide them care to a the animals.

Salary: In California, their salary consists of $97,190 per year or $46.72 per hour.

Education: To become a veterinarian, you must complete several years of education. A high school diploma is required but only if you are an undergraduate degrees. You will also need to earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and obtain  license. To earn a DVM, it typically takes four years of study after undergraduate school. You can also expect to take several courses like infectious diseases, immunology, and pharmacology. After earning that, you must obtain a license by passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination. Overall, the required level education you must have is a doctoral or professional degree.

Demand or Need for this profession: The job outlook for this profession is growing 9% in a 10-year growth. There must be a need for this profession. There would be a weak future growth score.

Reflection: I think I would like to be a veterinarian, because it seems like the type of career I would choose. I love animals and taking care of them. I will love treating them and make them feel better. It is a career that I liked to do in the future.

This quote by Leo Tolstoy is very inspiring to young people who truly want to live a good life. In order to do that, you always have to do good. For instance, if you do good in your school, you are going to live it well and enjoyed it. In the other hand, if a person chooses the wrong and does bad things, obviously they aren’t going to live to the fullest. We all our humans and in order to live a longer happy life, is to good. In school terms, if you do good and good grades, you will have a successful life. You will have a career, possibly a family, and anything good. If a person does drugs and hangs out with the wrong crowd, they will not live long. Another example is Aaron Rodgers. He hasn’t seen his family for two years. He doesn’t accept their gifts and not even give them tickets to watch his  games. He doesn’t live to the fullest. The secret ingredient to have a happy and a long lasting life is to do good. That is all ! That means having good grades, being respectful, and choosing healthier choices. Doing good will gave a huge impact towards your life. It is great to do the right thing if you want a great life.

                  Medical Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities: A medical scientist is a specialist in which they design and conduct studies to investigate human diseases and various strategies to prevent and treat them. According to study.com, medical scientists develops new medical breakthroughs that benefit humanity. They conduct research aimed at improving overall human health. They usually obtain clinical trials and other “investigative methods” to reach their findings. One of their duties is to prepare and analyze medical samples and data to investigate causes and treatment of toxicity , pathogens, or chronic disease. One of their main responsibility is to create and test medical devices, because they will constantly use it their daily life as a medical scientist.

Salary:  $ 82,240 USD

Education: The education that is required to become a medical scientist is not quite complex. Some students typically pursue a bachelor’s degree in biology or chemistry. Also they typically take courses that develops communication and writing skills, because they must learn to write grants effectively and publish research findings. Another option is to enter a Ph.D programs which can be very useful. Overall, the only requirements is to have a high school diploma and a Doctoral or professional degree.

Demand or Need for this profession:  The average outlook for this profession is an increase of 8% from 2014 to 2024. Therefore, there should be no demand nor need for this profession.

Reflection: I think I would like to be a medical scientist, because I am very interested in the medical field. It is interesting how the medical scientist have so many fascinating.

    This quote by Ben Carson is saying that there has to be a choice make. Either living in poverty or in prosperity. When Ben was little, he hated poverty. But poverty is not something you have to live forever with. Poverty is a choice of yours. And that is what Ben realized. He discovered that if he doesn’t want to live in poverty forever, then there should be some changes and decisions. He knew that he would need to try harder in school and to work extra hard to be successful. Therefore, he and his family won’t live in poverty. He followed his goals and dream and up to now, he was not in poverty. He was, in fact, very successful. At an early age, his mother will always make him read and he hated it. Now, that important aspect of life came in handy. That is what the quote is saying. Living in poverty is up to you, it is a choice you will have to make. And Ben changed that. He worked very hard and he decided that he would change the fact that he is living in poverty. For instance, if you want to go to a college or university and want to be successful in life, then that is your decision. Like Ben, you should be committed to that goal and work hard to make that change in your life. Overall, Ben chose not to live in poverty but to live in prosperity. And that is the change that he was willing to make.

           UCLA

The topic that I chose is the University of California Los Angeles. I chose this topic, because this is the university I would like to attend to it some day. The motto of Ucla is “let there be light.” This means that attending to this school, will give you the light to follow to the right path of success. It was found in 1881. It became a university in May 23, 1919 when Governor William G. Stephens signed the legislature. This university was known as the “southern Branch”. on 1929, the West wood campus opens with 5,500 students! Later on, on 1933, graduate study was authorized for the Master of Arts Degree. In 2014, Ucla was ranked the number 6 on the best top schools in California. The diverse campus offers opportunities for students to pursue other interests which includes student social clubs, school traditions, and athletics. One of the school’s tradition are the school colors. It is blue and yellow, because the blue symbolizes the ocean and yellow to reflect the Golden State and the sunsets. In 1924, students chose the mascot for a more ferocious animal so they chose the Grizzly. One of the greatest tradition is make humility of their great arrival , USC. Every year, the university of Bruins will create a Trojan horse and burn it on fire. However, due to consequences, they had to stop the tradition. In the other hand, they will still humiliate them in other techniques. Overall, this university is great in the medical careers and other majors. I would like to be accepted to this school and have a successful career.

This quote by Russell Nelson is telling us that no matter what happens, doing the wrong thing will NEVER be right. Even if everyone is doing it. For instance, if your so called friends are smoking and they won’t be your friends if you don’t join them, that is the wrong thing. Even if they want you to join, it is wrong. Another example is that if everyone are doing drugs in your school. Even though everyone is doing it, that doesn’t make it right. Wrong is still wrong. Even if you are the only one who is doing the right thing, you are doing the right thing. It doesn’t matter what they say to you, what matters are your actions. You will be the only one light up while everyone are in the dark side. The only one who will be successful in life will be the one who chooses the right. Therefore, wrong will be wrong and right will always be right.

                  The Amazon River

The Amazon River is the most fascinating places to visit. The Amazon River is located in South America and it is the second longest river in the whole world. It flows through Guyana, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. The Amazon River meanders through the dense foliage of this biggest tropical rain forest in the world! The river is so large that the river contain 20% of the planet’s fresh water supply. The river “drains” over 7,381,000 cubic foot of water into the Atlantic Ocean each second. Some interesting facts of the Amazon River is that it originates from the Andes Mountains. The mouth of the river is located in the Atlantic Ocean! The length of the river is approximately 6,400 km or 4,000 miles. There are about an over of 3000 species of fish that live in the Amazon River. One big disadvantage is that this river is the home to the piranha, a meat-eating type of fish. However, the amazon river is a good place to visit. It provides peace and calmness. It is just the sound of the water flowing and the birds chirping. I selected this place, because I hope one day I will visit this place with my whole family and enjoyed the peacefulness there and leave out all the stress at home. This place gives me inspiration and like “good vibes.”
