Class Evaluation

                                            Class Evaluation

Some things that I liked about this class, is that whenever we meet, we always learn something new. For instance, we learn inspirational quotes about life. We also learn various types of medical professions. Another thing I like about this class is that my teacher always give real life examples about these quotes. He tells us to always do the right thing, because it can affect our future in a positive way. He reminds to not choose the wrong path and be responsible and have a good name. Our teacher helps us how to type with all fingers. He gives us advises and some websites to help us type more advanced.
Some things that I don't like about this class, is that there students that are being disrespectful to the class. They sometimes talk when the teacher is talking, they chew gum, they don't follow directions, and just doing what they feel like doing. I find that disrespectful and not having an academic integrity.
Some recommendations for this class would be to add a little bit more of fun. To make teaching and learning a little more fun. For instance, while we work, there could be a small tone of nice music. Besides that, this class doesn't need recommendations.
A highlight for me in this class was when I got 35 words per minute and without errors in my typing tutor. This was a great highlight for me, because I always make errors and my capacity and speed are very low. This shows that with practice, I am advancing in my typing. Another highlight, was when our teacher first taught us about choosing the right and to be committed in it. This changed my life, because I now know what comes if I choose the right.
I really tried my best in this class. I tried to maintain my ctr card wherever I go and complete the assignments he assigned us. I did my 110 percent best on completing my assignment and trying maintain an "A" in this course.
Yes I am reading my life planning goals and reporting it, however not daily. I know that I am supposed to do it daily, but that was my mistake. I am trying to report it daily. In the other other hand, I do read and write on my life planning goals daily.
I am committed to be a CTR person, because a person who chooses the right are happy and they become successful people in life. They are responsible, spiritual, loyal, hard-working, patient, cooperative, respectful, humble, and honest. Ctr people always get good grades and they don't lie. To be committed to be a ctr person can change  numerous people's lives. Besides, if you do the right, you feel right 24/7.

“When you tell one lie, it leads to another.”
                                       By: Paul Hatch
This quote is saying that when you say one lie, no matter what, you will say another lie. It is what humans do. When a person tells a lie, they tell another lie to cover the first one so no one will suspect anything. People tell lies so they can protect themselves for something bad. For instance, there was a young little boy who was taught to never lie from his mother. Then , as soon as his mother left for the groceries, the little boy accidently broke the flower vase with the basketball. He was extremely scared. He didn't want to get in trouble and be yelled out so instead he got the pieces and shoved it in the closet. As his mother comes, she opened the closet and asked who broke the vase. The little boy didn’t wanted to get in trouble so instead he blamed it on his older sister. The sister denied and so did the boy. The mom noticed that the sister was sick all day and couldn’t go downstairs because she was weak. So right away, she knew it was his son. Then the mom told him that his sister couldn’t go downstairs, therefore, the little boy told another lie. This shows that as soon as you tell one lie, it would to lead to another. Even if the lie is small as an ant or big as an elephant, a lie is a lie. And it will always lead to another. Paul states that when you lie, you are closing doors on everything good. In  other words, if you lie, you are choosing the wrong. Lying is a sin and yet many people do it. They do it either to protect others and themselves, they like to make other people feel bad, they do it to protect other’s feelings, etc. If we say lies, others might lie to you as well. In the other hand, if you say one truth, it will lead to another.

         A sting from a scorpion
One beautiful scorchy day, a family of three went camping on a desert. There were sand dunes everywhere and it is hard to see some animals at this day. A little  boy name Patrick, woke up with the attention of exploring around. His parents told him numerous times to wear shoes and not flip-flops due to danger. Patrick, knowing that nothing bad would happen, got his flip-flops and went outside in the wilderness to explore. As he was observing all the natural things in his surrounding, he notice that something poked him badly. He thought it was a thorn. As he looked around to see what was that poked him, and it turned out it was a scorpion. A scorpion stung him. He cried out of pain. He yelled extremely loud to their parents and his parents went to take him to the hospital. It took 2 hours to finally get there. As they got there, the doctor injected his leg anesthesia so it would numb his leg. Inj 24 hours, it would feel all better. Now to that day, he will never forget this and he learned a valuable lesson. He ignore his parents and was lazy. He decided to be rebellious instead of doing the right thing. The lesson is that if you do not do the right thing, you will be metaphorically stung. That is the significance of doing the right thing. The little boy didn’t choose the right so he got his price back. In my experience, something similar happened to me. I was once told from my mom to not play around the bushes due to the bees. I didn’t see any bees so I thought that it wouldn’t hurt if I just played in the bushes. Then out of nowhere, a bee stung me a little that I noticed it right away that I killed it with my fist. It didn’t affect me. That is the lesson that I need to do the right thing and be obedient.

      “ Always do right”
                          By: Mark Twain
This quote is quite self-explanatory. Mark Twain emphasizes to always do the right thing. If you do good every single day, you are on your way of being a successful person. There might be some conundrums here and there, however, you know that you have to choose the right path. If you do the right thing, you feel right about it. For example,  helping an elderly with the grocery bags. It is the right thing to help him/her. It is an act of kindness which is an example of the right thing to do. Other examples involve with being obedient, friendly among everyone, respectful, cooperative, humble, honest, good sportsmanship, grateful, spiritual, etc. Twain wants everyone to do the right, because it is the key to being successful and great person with a good name. Mark states that to always do the right thing, because it will gratify people and astonish others. It is never wrong to do the right thing. Many do the right thing, because people tell them to. But doing the right has to come within you. Just remind yourself everyday, it is never to do late to do the right thing.

                       “World War ll”

World War II which is also known as the second world war, was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. After just two decades from last global conflict, the second world war was the most deadliest war in the whole history. This war involve more than 30 countries and resulting 50 million military deaths ! This war was fought between two groups of counties. One side was the Axis power that includes Germany, Italy, and Japan. On the other side were the Allies that included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, and the United states of America. Those two groups among each other.
The World War II started at September 1, 1939 and lasted in September 2,1945. World War II had numerous locations such as Russia, Europe, Africa, Pacific Ocean, Asia, Middle East. Mediterranean Sea, Eurasia, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, and Atlantic Ocean.
Some events that happened during the war was in 1939 when Hitler invaded Poland on September the first leading that Britain and France declare war on Germany two days later. During 1940, british triumphs in Battle of Britain Forces causing Hitler to postpone invasion plans. In 1941, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the empire of Japan. In 1942, there was a mass murder of Jewish people at Auschwitz in which it begins. Also, there was an American naval victory at Battle of Midway which marks the turning point in Pacific War. In 1943, there was a surrender at Stalingrad that marks Germany’s first major defeat.  Italy surrenders and Germany takes over the battle. In 1944, Paris was liberated. Guam liberated by the US Okinawa. Finally at 1945, Auschwitz was liberated by Soviet troops and Japan surrenders on August 14.
To honor and show respect for those who died on World War II, we all can take a moment of silence and remember those Americans who never made it home. Another way is to place flowers or flags on their graves. Wear clothing that represents America to show respect among them. Finally, just thank them for what they’ve done and their sacrifices. Just remember our veterans all year long and not just on a special day. Personally. I thank them for all what they've done to protect our corntry. Their sacrifices such as not seeing their love ones for a very long time. I really appreciate this.

student success statement

The 3 questions
1. Can people trust me to do what’s right?
2. Am I committed to doing my very best ?
3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
“If the answers to these were YES, there is no way you can fail.”

This is fantastic statement, quoted by Lou Holtz. Lou shows the three questions and states that if the answers were yes to all of them, you are in your way to be successful. He states that these are the questions to the three rules that he follows. The first question is that if people can trust me to do what’s right. To do what is right is to choose the right, to be productive,  not being perfidious, having a good name, etc. If the answer to this is yes, then you have one step forward. The second question is that if a person is committed to do their very best. One should do their very best even if it get’s hard. For instance, if you are trying out for a sport, and you are putting your 100% best, the coach will see that and might put you on the team. If you answer yes to this question, you have one more step forward. Finally, the last question is that if you treat people the way you want to be treated. This is a golden rule for many people. To treat people the same as you wanted to be treated is good.If you treat some good and kind, then you get to be treated nicely back. However, if you treat other people rude and disrespectful, that is the way people will treat you back. If your answer to this is yes, then you took the last step of being successful.

          Challenges Teens Face Today

There are numerous challenges that teens face currently. One of the challenges they face is stress. Many teenage students stress over homework, relationship issues, sports, family problems, and more. This not only is a challenge, but stressing too much can lead to even bigger challenges such as gastritis, ulcers, and more illness. This is only one challenge that they face.

  1. Several major challenges that teens face are :  self-esteem and body-image, stress, bullying, depression, cyber addiction, drinking and smoking, teen pregnancy, peer-pressure and competition, and eating disorders. Surprisingly, these problems are connected to one another like a chain reaction.

  1. Two challenges that I currently face are stress and eating disorders. I noticed that I stress over too much on school and other stuff. An eating disorder is  when someone has irregular eating habits. Sometimes I don’t eat at the right time or I eat a lot in once. However, eating disorders are starting not to become a challenge. For stressing, I deal with it by taking deep breathes and just staying positive. Sometimes, I will stop worrying just by thinking about something else that I like. For eating disorders, I deal with it by just controlling my appetite.

  1.  Being a CTR person helps you to overcome any challenges that you face, because you make the right choices whether to not do the right thing or do the right thing. Making good choices and going the right path allows you to not face any challenges.

  1. I can help other teens to overcome their challenges by just supporting tem and that they are not alone in this. They will make it to the end at the end of the day. I will tell them my experiences on any challenges that I face, and that I overcome it. Teenagers who are facing challenges sometimes feel that they are alone and that no one cares. So I would like to show them that they are not alone.

Reflection: The greatest need that teens must have is love and support. They should know that someone in this world cares of what they think and they are not alone. Friends and family should support them in the good times and the bad times. Teens are currently at the time where they get frustrated and feel alone, so they need support and lots and lots of amorous.

        Health Science Librarian

Duties and Responsibilities:  A health science librarians are an integral part of the health care team. They are responsible for a variety of duties such as managing the library and the library staff. The health science librarian is like a “boss” to the staff. They are also responsible for purchasing educational books, magazines, and electronic resources for the students. Health science librarians provide access and evaluate materials such as design, develop, and maintain websites. They teach others how to find and use resources available in the library. Most of all, they provide health information  about new medical treatments, clinical trials, standard trial procedures, and test to other health professionals. Their duties involve many sweat.

  Salary: the average is $58,000

Education: The education that is needed to become a health science librarian is to graduate from high school and get a diploma. You must obtain a master’s degree from a school accredited by the American Library Association. The graduate program can be completed in 1-2 years. Practicum experience of at least 40 hours is also require. To be ahead, students at high school should take college preparatory curriculum or work in a college library.

Demand or need for this profession:
  • An internship associated with health
  • Research
  • Courses such as:
  1. Consumer health
  2. Medical informatics
  3. Cataloging and management

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be a health science librarian, because it doesn’t really catch my attention. However, it is good. Because you teach children about health and give them advices. But I don’t see myself as a health science librarian.
“ Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know that the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”
                                            By: John F. Kennedy

This quote by our president John F. Kennedy is really meaningful. He is telling us the significance of maintaining a healthy body and that this can affect our intellectual activity. He tells us that the relationship between our body and and our mind is very subtle. However, the Greeks understood that the intelligence and knowledge can only work when the body is strong and healthy. For instance, you can’t push too much information in your brain without a break. After studying a while, you must do some physical fitness, exercise. This forgets you about all the work and freshens up your mind and body. With this done, you can now go home and hit the books. If someone studies and reads a lot with no break or obtaining too much information in your brain, it not only can damage your brain, but it is unhealthy. Taking a walk or a run after studying is absolutely great. The mind and the body has a connection, therefore, the intellectual activity and physical fitness has a connection as well. We need to combine both. To improve my health, I should eat in portions and avoid snacking. Fortunately, I play sports so my health is good. I also combined physical fitness with my intellectual activity and it works fine. That is what John F. Kennedy states.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness”
                                 By: Joseph B. Wirthlin

Joseph B. Wirthlin stated that kindness is the essence of greatness. Kindness is the key to be a great person. The kinder you are, the greater person you will be. A great person is considered to be kind and generous. Kind, in this terms, is having great manners and etiquette. Manners such as saying please and thank you or “ May I”. Being kind is being friendly, caring, and humble. An example of this was during thanksgiving week. I saw a person helping their mom to carry groceries. That is being a gentleman. He was kind to do that and so, that makes him a great person. In the other hand, if someone abuses the other person is disrespectful, that is not kind. That person is not considered a “great” person. It is more like a person that chooses the wrong. When Joseph states that kindness is the essence of greatness, he means that being kind is the spirit of greatness. If you want to be a great person, then you shall be kind in every which way. For instance, I helped my mom clean without complaining and helped her cook. It was kind of me to do that for her. It was a way to tell her thank you for everything. Being kind is a great way to be a better person.

     Thanksgiving Week
Thanksgiving week went out pretty fast. On friday, the last day of school to Thanksgiving week, I had my first love-night game for basketball. We got that win. On Saturday, I attend to my college class just for an hour. Then I went to pick up my friend to attend the homeless walk. The homeless walk is a walk where you support the homeless. On Sunday, I did the usual which is practicing basketball and playing video games. On Monday, I helped my mother clean the house and it took a whole day and yet we still need more to accomplish. I also had time to write on my goals journal.  On Tuesday, I attend to practice at 10:00 and I had a lot of fun. Then I helped my mom clean the living room and the garage. On Wednesday, I went with my mom to pick out some stuff for our Thanksgiving dinner. Then we took a break by playing video games. We had lots of fun. I got to spend time with my mom which was part of my goals. Then, at last, was Thanksgiving. When I woke up, I started to text my friends that I was grateful for them and they are a huge part of my life. Then I went downstairs to eat breakfast that my mom made me. We ate strawberry pancakes. That day, I went to do my three essays that were assigned from my english teacher. I finished it in 3 hours. Then, while my dad was getting the turkey and mash potatoes, I helped my mom set up the table. We decorated with candles and decorations. At eight o’clock, it was time for the feats. We ate mash potatoes, turkey, spaghetti, cocktail, pumpkin pie, and cinnamon rolls. On Friday, my mom, brother, sister, and myself went black friday shopping. There were a lot of great sales. After a 4-hour shopping, we went home and rest. On saturday, we went to the movie theaters to see Moana. It was really interesting. Then on Sunday, we did the same thing as usual. That was my thanksgiving week.

“ If it not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do nay say it,”

This statement by Marcus  Aurelius is significant and can impact our lives. When he states,”if it is not right do not do it” , he means that if you know that something is wrong and you know it, just don’t do it, because it can lead to consequences. For instance, if a so-called friend asks you to go to drink alcohol with him, it is better to not join him. It is not right to drink alcohol so do not do it. Worst case scenario, the person would say yes and join him for few minutes. However that is not the right thing to do. That is called bad-spirited. After Marcus stated the first parted, he then adds, “ if it is not true, do not say it.” If someone is lying and they are telling you to agree with them and say it, don’t say it. It is not true and that person will take you to the wrong path. It is dishonest. Marcus Aurelius is teaching us to choose the right and take the right path. If it is not the right thing to do , then don’t do it. If it is a lie, then don’t say it. Throughout my experience, I’ve learned that I was not supposed to go to my friend’s house without permission. If I do go, I would be disobeying and it is not the right thing to do. So I did not go without her permission. It is simple to do the right thing.

         Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is a term that means an expression of gratitude or the act of giving thanks. In Thanksgiving Day, its a holiday in which it is celebrated the fourth thursday of November. It has been celebrated ever since 1863. On 1621, the plymouth colonists and the indians shared a harvest feast that is acknowledge today as the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. The pilgrims had their second thanksgiving celebration in 1623 to mark the end of the long drought that had threatened the year’s harvest and prompted Governor Bradford to call for a religious fast. In many american households, there are an abundant of traditions for Thanksgiving. For instance, huge parades. This one of the most common tradition. These parades features: marching bands, performers, elaborate floats conveying celebrities, and giant balloons shaped as cartoons. Many people wonder why turkey is the main food to eat in Thanksgiving Day. Well, since Bradford wrote of how colonists hunted turkeys during the autumn of 1621 and since turkey was known as “scrumptious”, it gain traction as the Thanksgiving meal of choice for americans. More than 4 million of turkeys were consume on the day of Thanksgiving!

“ Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or                                                       losing.”
                                By: Chick Moorman

This statement is by Moorman is really meaningful. He is telling the audience that doing what is fairly is far more important than winning or losing. Doing the “honorable” way means not cheating and and doing the right way. The opposite of honorable is being dishonest, unfair, uncooperative, and disrespectful. An example of this statement is a person cheating for a test.  This represents the dishonesty of a person itself. They are doing what its right and this person is doing the wrong just to get a good grade on a test. The person may win an A , but not a win deep inside him. So that is why doing what is right is far more important than winning or losing. Another example that i similar with this is a person copying and pasting an article from the internet. The person was caught so he lose. He loss and he chose the wrong. What the person did wasn’t right nor fair. Doing the right thing like doing things fairly is extremely important than losing and winning.

               Veterans  Day
Veterans day is the first anniversary of world war 1 in 1919. This is a public holiday to honor the US veterans that passed away during the war. Veterans day is the day is always on November 11, the day in which the world war 1 ended. The purpose of Veterans day is to honor the fact that the first world war ended and to praise of those whom died. It is significant to honor the veterans, because it is a way to acknowledging the sacrifices they made while serving our country. Some ways to show honor and respect on veterans day is placing some flowers or flags on the grave of the veterans. That shows honor of the sacrifices they’ve done. Another example is to take a moment of silence to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. Another example is to wear red, white, and blue to honor them.

Reflection: My feelings towards veterans day is great holiday to really show honor for those who made a huge sacrifice for our freedom. Many people enjoy veterans day, because they don’t have to work or go to school. However , little do they know, that this is a holiday to honor them. The veterans are true ctr people. Their sacrifice was very humble. I feel that more people should appreciate veterans. So all I can say to them is thank you.
    “Honesty is the best policy”
                                      By: Mark Twain
The best policy is honesty and this is stated by a fellow man name Mark Twain. Being honest is one more step of choosing the right. Honesty is telling the truth no matter what. For instance, if you broke a window with a soccer ball accidently, the best way to handle that is telling the truth. Honest people are always trustworthy. That’s why honesty is the best policy there is. You will feel much better if you tell the truth. In the other hand, dishonesty will not be the best policy. If someone is dishonest, they are not trustworthy nor a good person. An example of a dishonest person is someone who keeps telling lies and think that’s ok with it. Lying is an easy way out, but by being honest you learn to tackle difficult or uncomfortable situations and grow as a person. Throughout my experience, lying makes me feel bad as a person. Lying is a sin. Being honest no matter how big the situation is , makes me feel better at the end of the day. Once you are being dishonest and lie to someone, it is hard for them to gain your trust back. Being honest is someone who chooses the right. I cannot express this enough. Honesty is the BEST policy there ever will have.

“ These are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity:
  1. Have the courage to say no.
  2. Have the courage to face the truth.
  3. Do the right thing because it is the right thing.”
                         By: W.Clement Stone
W.Clement Stone stated that the only way to have integrity is the three significant keys. One of them is to have the courage to say no. For instance, if someone offers you to drink alcohol or smoke, you need to have the bravery to say no. It takes a lot of courage to say no. You have to confront the person and say no. Another example is when someone is using you. The person might say to do what they command, but you have to be strong and say no. The second key is to have the courage to face the truth. For example, if you did something bad, don’t lie, because you’re choosing the wrong. You need to be brave and accept your mistake and be condor. Telling the truth will lead you to the right path. And that leads to the third key. The third and final key is to do the right thing because it is right. In this case, you have to have a good name and character. Choosing the right thing such as obeying, doing your homework, be self-reliant,etc, is an act of integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing even though no one is watching. An example of not having integrity is not choosing the right thing, not obeying, not trustworthy, and having a bad name.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fool shall be destroy.”
                                         Proverbs 13-20

This statement from the proverb 13-20 is really meaningful. What that means is that if a person who joins a group with wise people, shall be wise as well. For instance, if he a person walks with people that studies and does their homework daily, that person will act like them. If he wants to be a ctr person then he shall hang with the ctr people. In the other hand, the prover also says that if he has companions that are fools, he shall be destroyed. For example, if he joins a group where youngsters smoke and drink alcohol, he shall be one of them and be destroy. He will not choose the right path. According to the video I saw in class, there was a teenage boy who hang with the wrong crowd. He stay at parties and may come back to his house the next day or even next week. He also didn’t do his homework daily.  The cause of that is because he walked with a companion of fools. But later on, he noticed what his mistakes were and decided to walk with the right crowd. He then graduated was successful.

“ The best recreation is to do good”

By: William Penn

The best recreation is to do good in life. This statement by William Penn . The recreation word is known as outside activities.  In this terms, recreation is re-creating yourself. When william says that recreation is to do good, he emphasizes that there are many ways to do good. For example, after a day of studying hard and you’re tired, the best thing to do is like planting an outside sport or just going for a walk at the park. Once you do that, you feel great, fresh, and ready to do the next thing. That is recreating your self. This statement sends a message to everyone that to recreate yourself, you need to do good. To do good is like being active, cooperating, collaborating, being an active citizen, etc. Another example of this recreation, is to hang with the right crowd. It s better if you hang with the ctr crowd instead of the ctw crowd. To recreate yourself, you have to do good and choose the right daily.
