student success statement

The 3 questions
1. Can people trust me to do what’s right?
2. Am I committed to doing my very best ?
3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
“If the answers to these were YES, there is no way you can fail.”

This is fantastic statement, quoted by Lou Holtz. Lou shows the three questions and states that if the answers were yes to all of them, you are in your way to be successful. He states that these are the questions to the three rules that he follows. The first question is that if people can trust me to do what’s right. To do what is right is to choose the right, to be productive,  not being perfidious, having a good name, etc. If the answer to this is yes, then you have one step forward. The second question is that if a person is committed to do their very best. One should do their very best even if it get’s hard. For instance, if you are trying out for a sport, and you are putting your 100% best, the coach will see that and might put you on the team. If you answer yes to this question, you have one more step forward. Finally, the last question is that if you treat people the way you want to be treated. This is a golden rule for many people. To treat people the same as you wanted to be treated is good.If you treat some good and kind, then you get to be treated nicely back. However, if you treat other people rude and disrespectful, that is the way people will treat you back. If your answer to this is yes, then you took the last step of being successful.
