                Presidents Day  

Presidents Day is a holiday in which Americans celebrate on the third Monday of February. It is traditionally celebrated on February 22 which is Washington's actual day of birth. The holiday became popularly known as President’s Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s.  Washington’s birthday was first declared a federal holiday by an 1879 act of congress.Several  ways to show honor and respect on President’s Day is just like the traditions as Independence Day. President’s Day is a time to honor every one of our chiefs of states. One way to show honor is by creating a monument. People might make any monuments of any president of their choice. This shows a great honor for our past presidents. Another way is to take a tour in the Whitehouse. Another option is to learn all 44 presidents name. This will show respect towards all presidents of the past. Also, you can write a letter to any president that is available and write how you appreciate the work he has done. Some interesting facts about President’s Day is that it became common in the late 1980’s for retailers to use President’s Day as a day to sell off old stock. Also, some states also celebrate Abraham’s birthday in President’s Day as well as George Washington. Some ways people honor George Washington, is naming places after him such Washinton D.C.  This holiday is the time where all of our family members come together and show honor in any way for our previous presidents. We should all appreciate for their duties.
