Student Success Statement

         "don't expect things to come from the sky, you have to fight for it"

This student success statement created by me means something. People sometimes just think that things will go their way and their parents will give them everything what they want. However, you have to fight for what you want. It's like money doesn't grow on trees. You have work hard and fight for it to earn that money. If you don't fight for what you want, then don't cry for what you lost. It is worthy to fight for something, things won't come straight down from the sky. If a lady is fighting for her rights, then she is doing the right thing. She won't lay down at the sun and hoping it will solve the problem by itself. She has to do something about. She wants it, then she needs to fight for it. That is the good thing to do, the only thing you should do.  As long if that person who is fighting is positive and determine, she will get what she wants.

  Ear Nose Throat Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: The ear, nose, and throat doctor, also known as the ENT, are medical doctors that are responsible for surgical and medical treatment for nose, throat, and the ear. They are responsible for diagnosing and treating a number of conditions that originate in the head or the neck. They are also responsible for investigating if the problem is occurring because of an allergy. One of their duties is to write the prescriptions of the type of medication is needed for the patient. If the cases are severe, the doctor will then recommend a surgery.

Salary: $205,000 per year

Education: To become an ENT, you first need to complete a medical school program for five years. The first year will be focus on emergency medicine and critical care medicine. Then the other four years, it will be focus on otolaryngology. After that, you must pass the United States Medical License Examination.  

Demand or Need for this profession:  There are very few ENT specialists. We need a demand for this profession. One out of three of ENT specialists are here Los Angeles.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one, because it doesn’t quite interest me. This career has a great salary, however I feel there will be more pressure in this career.

"Obedience is central to becoming,being, and remaining happy"

     This Student Success Statement is really powerful and a classic by David Bednar. What David meant by this is that obedience, meaning following the rules and being a CTR person, is the only way and its the key to becoming a happy human being. If someone is productive and self-reliant, that person will be remaing happy for a long period of time. As long as he chooses the right. If someone does bad stuff and is no obedient, he or she will not be the happiest person out there. The person may think he or she is happy, but deep inside, they are not. In order to be happy, we need to have a great a  character  and be loyal. That is being obedient. With being obedient, that is the aim,the focus, and the target. If you are not obedient, you will be unhappy. 

                          LAUSD Student Services

There are numerous student services that are provided by Lausd. One of the student services is the magnet fair. The magnet fair will be for North West Magnet middle schools. Another student led services is the AALO career fair and workshops. These are the upcoming events in the calender. A student service in the LAUSD website is beyond the link of students life. There are tons of links in the website. For instance , there is a school menu to see what are they giving for breakfast or lunch. There is also a Beyond The Bell programs for after school which are really helpful. There is a code of conduct for students also! One of the links is Student Resources and tools. Beyond the link is bullying information, Digital Library, pupil services,etc. There is also a significant link which is the graduation requirements. There , they explain what you need in order to graduate. An interesting fact, there is an online learning in LAUSD for those who want to remake courses or who wants to get ahead. Students can take advantage of this, because there are college prep classes,high school electives, and ap classes! There are even more student services in the lausd website.

Student Success Statement

                " Choosing the right is always the right thing to do"

This statement by a fellow student name Alex Linares stated  a beautiful quote. What Alex means by this is that if we do the right thing , that would be the right thing to do. It will always  be the right thing if we do the right every day in our daily lives. If we do do the wrong like stealing, obviously, that would be the wrong thing to do. Plus, if we do wrong things, we won't get a lot of credit. An example of this, is that a Little boy helps the poor, donate money or clothes, and does the chores for his mom. He is doing the right thing and one day, he will get credit for it. In the other hand, if the boy steals money, doesn't do homework, and curses, he is obviously not choosing the right thing and not doing the right thing. If we choose the right every day, our lives will be so much better, because it is the right thing to do. If w study, we will get good grade. If we do chores without our parents telling us, we will get credit. And that is by choosing the right. 

           Dermatologists

Responsibilities and Duties:  Dermatologists provide medical and surgical treatments to people with problems such as bacterial infections, aging,acne,allergic reactions, etc. They provide dermatology consultation to other health professionals. They also recommend diagnostic tests based on patent's history and physical  examination findings. One of their duties is to conduct clinical or basic research and to perform skin surgery to approve appearance, make early diagnosis, or control skin diseases such as skin cancer. They have lots of other duties they are responsible of.

Salary: ( $300,000 or more)

Education: Becoming a dermatologist requires many years of education. They must do the following:

1. Students must complete any college with a bachelor’s degree.
2. Students must complete medical school in becoming a medical doctor or a osteopathic doctor.
3. They must have 1 year of an internship.
4. Must attend to Dermatology residency program for at least 3 years and graduate.

Demand or need for this profession: There are very few of dermatologists , so we demand more for this profession. In sunny California,people have risks of getting skin cancer if they are too much in the sun.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one,because the profession doesn’t seem interesting. I would not enjoy performing a surgery.

 " What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player."

This tremendous statement by John Wooden is really meaningful. What this statement means is that what you are as a person is more significant than a ball player. First comes the way you are , your personality, your sportsmanship. Then it's basketball. In order to become a great player in general ( in this terms basketball) you have to have great sportsmanship and a great character in you. For instance, if you have a great charisma and temperament, you will be a great person as who you are. If that person chooses the right first, then you will be a great player inside of you when you step on the court and off the court. Now, if you don't have a great personality and horrible charisma, in the court, you won't be a true basketball player. You might be selfish with the ball and that isn't having a great personality.
